SUGAR POP

ANIMATION

My title sequence highlights Western life and its pop culture after World War Two ends (1945 onwards). It does this by referencing both popular and niche artworks from various Pop Art artists within the time period of the late 1940's to the 60's, this would later be known as the Art Pop movement. The overall mood of the sequence is to sugar-coat the war, portraying a sense of relief from the public when the fighting was over through popular things during that time.

The animation ranges from upbeat music, and care free animation that tells a story. Pop Art has huge clichés associated with it in present times. With overly done cartoony graphics and blinding colours. These pieces of work are often created with little to no research and generalises the historical art movement. This title sequence combats this and is inspired by real pieces that helped incite the Pop Art movement and pays homage to it.

ROLE

Animation, Title Sequence

TOOLS

After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator, Davinci Resolve
